SoulCries Oratorio [oratorio: a collection of sacred songs related by a theme]
SoulCries is written for SATB choir, soloists, and medium orchestra.
What is the purpose of SoulCries: It is my greatest desire that the hearers of this work will be blessed by the hour immersed in the music; walking in the thoughts, in the pleas, and in the praises of our spiritual forefathers. These men and women placed their faith and their lives in the hands of God our Father, and cried out to Him with their hearts, voices, tears, and sometimes, just bold-faced courage.
Isaiah wrote, 'Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and your soul will delight in the richest of fare.'
The writing of Soul Cries has been for me a discovery and rediscovery of the faithful, constant presence and goodness of God - a banquet of the very richest of fare. I give God all the glory, for doing something that I could never do in my own strength. May it be in every way His love, His lordship, His plans, and His purposes, that echos through each song.
SoulCries is available as individual songs as well as collectively, orchestrated for medium orchestra or for solo piano accompaniment (additional individual instruments available.)
